Paul McClenon died in Austin, Texas, on 17 July 2014. He was the son of Walter H. McClenon, the founder of the fund (and principal codifier of the United States Code) and Ruth K. McClenon.

Paul had been custodian of the unincorporated fund from 1940 until 1971. He was a trustee of the Walter H. McClenon Fund from 1976, when it was incorporated, until 2013, and served as its Treasurer from 1977 to 2013. He was the author of many ad hoc reports on organizations. He was a major contributor to the General Endowment and to the Special Endowment.

The Fund mourns his death.
